The Lunt family has been fishing the waters off Frenchboro, Long Island for nearly 200 years. Captain Zachary D. Lunt is a ninth generation islander who now works the waters of Blue Hill Bay as his ancestors have for generations. On each special trip, he will share insights, history, and knowledge of the lobster fishing business and island life with his passengers. This a rare opportunity to climb aboard a working lobster boat in an authentic island fishing village to learn the lobster fishing business first-hand.
Captain Zach's 90-minute lobster cruises will take place aboard the 32-foot Sandi or the 38-foot Zachary Nathaniel. Both are downeast-style working lobster boats – the real thing. Each tour includes a boat ride on the bay, the hauling and setting of several lobster traps, and a full explanation of how the lobsters are caught and how the lobster business works. Lobster traps may catch a number of sea creatures in addition to lobsters, including crabs, codfish, sea urchins, and sea pumpkins. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and photos. While every trip is subject to the whims of nature, passengers might also see seals, bald eagles, fish, and other wildlife.

Captain Zach also offers chartered fishing tours and sightseeing tours. These tours are available upon request and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Type of fishing available depends on the season.
